CORVUS Legal team secures EU long-term residence permit in challenging case ⚖️

We are proud to share another success by the CORVUS Legal team – this time in the area of immigration law.
Our client faced an unexpected challenge when the authorities requested additional evidence that their academic education in Latvia had been completed in the Latvian language – a requirement for obtaining European Union long-term resident status.

Although the diplomas had been issued by a Latvian higher education institution in the early 1990s, official records did not explicitly confirm the language of instruction. Our colleagues Andrejs Voroncovs and Agnese Gudele-Krongorne acted promptly, gathering archived university documents, issuing legal arguments, and referencing applicable regulations and case law, including the principles of proportionality, legitimate expectations, and in dubio pro civis (benefit of the doubt to the individual).

As a result, the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs granted our client permanent residence rights in Latvia valid until 2030.

This case reflects our team’s comprehensive understanding of Latvian and EU immigration law, as well as our dedication to defending our clients’ rights, even in complex administrative proceedings.

📌 We continue to assist individuals, families, and investors in navigating legal pathways to residence in Latvia.
