CORVUS client’s proceedings on criminally acquired property terminated and funds released from seizure
⚖️🔓 We are pleased to announce that attorney-at-law Kalvis Vanags has achieved a significant victory while representing a client in proceedings concerning criminally obtained property. The court terminated the proceedings regarding property valued at EUR 3.8 million, and the case officer lifted the freeze imposed on the client’s assets.
📑 Both the first-instance and appellate courts found that the evidence in the case did not provide grounds to conclude that the frozen assets were of criminal origin. Accordingly, the proceedings on criminally obtained property were terminated.
⚖ With the lifting of the asset freeze, the client has fully regained control over their financial funds and other property.
