CORVUS Supports CSDD’s “The Last Dance” Road Safety Campaign
CORVUS is pleased to support the new road safety campaign launched by the Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD), “The last dance begins without a seatbelt. Don’t take chances – buckle up!” (“Pēdējā deja sākas bez jostas. Nelauzies – piesprādzējies!”)
The campaign draws attention to one of the simplest and most effective road safety measures: wearing a seat belt on every journey and in every seat.
In 2025, 47 serious road traffic accidents in Latvia involved failures to observe basic passive-safety requirements. Twenty people lost their lives and several others suffered serious injuries because drivers and/or passengers were not wearing seat belts.
Fastening a seat belt takes only seconds, but in a collision it can make a decisive difference. An unrestrained passenger can endanger other people in the vehicle, just as unsecured objects in the passenger compartment or luggage area can become dangerous during a collision.
For CORVUS, contributing to initiatives with a clear public benefit is part of responsible business. Road safety concerns all of us, and this campaign addresses everyday choices that are simple to make but can have life-saving consequences.
The campaign is organised by CSDD in cooperation with the State Police. Its strategic partners are Balcia, Circle K and Rimi, while CORVUS, Riga Technical University and the Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopaedics support the campaign.
